FAQ

Q: Where is this taking place?

A: Our wedding ceremony and reception is at Felton Ranch in Driftwood, Texas. The address is 1100 Lanier Ranch Road, Driftwood, Texas 78619.

Q: Is this outside or inside?

A: The wedding ceremony and reception will be entirely outside. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place beneath a pavilion.

Q: What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

A: We value comfort first. We’re asking our guests to come dressed brightly in their favorite colors. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking on a lot of grass and uneven surfaces. The grooms will be wearing purple.

Q: Does your wedding have a theme?

A: Yes, we’re asking everyone to come dressed colorfully. Jessica, you can wear black of course.

In all seriousness: Please, just dress comfortably!

Q: What will the weather be like?

A: Our wedding is taking place October 8, 2022 in Texas. Yes, that Texas. Expect warm temperatures. Again, we recommend coming dressed comfortably.

Q: I saw your dog will be present. What if I don’t like dogs?

A: Odie will be present for the ceremony, and then he will head home after posing for photos. He will be on a leash the entire time. It is a large, outdoor space — so it should be easy to avoid him during his brief visit at the wedding. We have hired a dog handler for the ceremony so he will be attended to at all times. He will be walked down the aisle — so if you are afraid or nervous around dogs, we recommend you avoid an aisle seat.

Q: What happens after the ceremony?

A: Here is a full schedule:

  • 4:30 p.m. Ceremony

  • 5 p.m. Cocktail hour

  • 6:15 p.m. Dinner

  • 7:00 p.m. Cake

  • 7:30 p.m. Dance

  • 10 p.m. Party begins to end

Q: Are there other wedding events I can attend?

A: No — everything is taking place on Saturday during the schedule linked above.

Q: I’m traveling from out of Austin. Where should I stay?

A: We are providing transportation via a charter bus from the Hancock Center in Austin, Texas to the wedding venue in Driftwood, Texas. The ceremony and reception are taking place at the same venue: Felton Ranch. If you wish to take the charter bus (please let us know when you RSVP), we recommend staying in Austin. If you wish to drive yourself to and from the venue, there are several AirBnBs in Driftwood as well as a few hotels. We do not have hotel blocks.

Q: What can you tell me about the charter bus? How do I get to the venue?

A: The charter bus will depart from the Hancock Center in Austin, Texas at 3 p.m. It will arrive at the wedding venue around 3:50 p.m. The charter bus will depart from the wedding venue at 10:15 p.m. and should arrive back at the Hancock Center in Austin, Texas around 11 p.m. Please indicate in your RSVP if you will be taking the charter bus so we have an accurate headcount. If you are not planning on taking the charter bus, please plan on your own transportation. There is parking at the venue.

Q: Can I bring my kid?

A: Yes! Kids of guests are welcomed — please just include them in your RSVP count.

Q: Can I bring a date?

A: We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Q: When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

A: Please RSVP by September 2nd. Please RSVP online here: bobbyericwedding.com/rsvp

The password is in your official wedding invite.

Q: Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

A: Yes. Here is the menu:

  • Appetizers: Guacamole, salsa, queso & chips + street corn on the cobb + egg plant stackers

  • Main: Chicken fajitas + cactus tacos (vegetarian)

  • Sides: Autumn pear salad + poblano rice + vegetable medley

Alcohol will also be served by two TABC certified bartenders. It is an open bar.

Q: Where are you registered?

A: We are not registered. Instead, we are asking our guests to bring a copy of their favorite book and write in the opening page why the book is meaningful to them. We are building a library room at our home and would love to fill a shelf with books from our closest friends and family.

Q: Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

A: Yes! We also have a photographer at the wedding.

Q: Wait, didn’t you already get married? What’s the deal?

A: Yes, we did.

We originally planned an October 2022 wedding after getting engaged during the pandemic. However, we decided to legally wed early when the U.S. Supreme Court draft ruling of the Dobbs v. Jackson case leaked. Based on the leaked draft, some legal scholars speculated that the fate of same-sex marriage was at risk. We’re Texas natives and we wanted a Texas wedding license. We’re still planning our October wedding, and would love to see you there.

Q: I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

A: Email us at bobbyericwedding@gmail.com or shoot us a text — you have our numbers!
